Recently I read a blog post, "Kid Birthday Gift Idea: Summer Fun Kit," that sparked an inexpensive birthday gift idea. The timing is perfect, as my daughter is invited to attend her friend's birthday party. With a creative imagination, a quick trip to the craft store, 15-20m, and a 7 year old to help, this gift idea will certainly maximize the few dollars spent. Most importantly, the Birthday Girl will be thrilled!
The gift idea surrounds all things crafts. By the way, the best way to find out what a 7 year old likes, is to ask another one. That's where my daughter comes in...she helped pick out craft activities that she'd like to do. The items purchased cost me $10 (see picture above). I should note: I already had the birthday stickers/cupcake, necklace, and bow...otherwise, add an add'l $4 ($1/each). Another important note is that I used a 40% off coupon and received a discount on the Celebration 8x8 Scrapbook Page Kit...reducing the purchase amount for the kit to under $3.
The bucket and birthday tissue paper were also items I had prior. However, you can find each of these items fairly cheap at any craft store (or even at a Dollar Store) for $1/each. Once the items are placed in the bucket, cover it with a clear gift bag. Add embellishments, such as a bow and a birthday tag...you can personalize the tag with the birthday girl's name. Voila! An inexpensive birthday gift ranging between $10 - $14.
