Music Moves Me?!

Hello pic img

When I read that women were prompted to call their exes and apologize for any wrong doing after hearing Adele's song, "Hello" I chuckled.  A WUSA9.com article shared that 64% of women polled in a survey, were impacted by Adele's newest release so much so, that they reached out to an ex in an attempt to repair a broken relationship.  On the contrary, the song is actually about reconnecting with yourself.

At the time of drafting this post, Hello is currently #1 on the Billboard charts for two consecutive weeks. I anticipate it remaining there for another couple of weeks, as the song is really that good.  I happen to really like Adele's melodic sound and the catchy hook [Hello].  It is the type of song that I enjoy, but it doesn't elicit the same response in me contacting an ex.

Fascinated by the results of this survey, I sat and thought a little longer on whether or not the power of music moves me...and it has [does]!  The proof is in my iPhone, here are a few titles of my Playlists:
  • Bubble Bath
  • Unabashed Romantic
  • Workout
Based on the titles alone, you have an idea of when I listen to these playlists ;-) Not to mention every year during the holidays, I play my Motown Christmas CD that puts me into the mindset to decorate our home for Christmas.  It really puts me in the Christmas spirit!

Music is a universal language.  Music has a tremendous impact on our culture. Music impacts our moods.  Music moves me.

How about you?  Are there artists' music that affects you?  Share in a comment below...I'd love to know your thoughts.
