Best Years of a Woman's Life

One of my friends is approaching a milestone birthday.  She's throwing a big "I'm Turning 40..." party and very excited to approach this next phase.  As her friend, I'm excited to join in the celebration and welcome her into the Forty Club...and we're not talking about the English cricket club.

This post initially started as an inspiration for Wordless Wednesday to share my creativity and a cute card. Sidebar: I used my Forever Young Cricut cartridge.  Card is 5x7 and can fit in A7 envelope.

"The best years of a woman's life - the ten years between 39 and 40" - author unknown

As I began crafting this card, I thought about what turning 40 means.  Is it just a number?  Is it when life begins?  At this age have you gained wisdom and a sense of calm?  For some entering this decade brings angst and for others, it's embraced with open arms.  For me, approaching this age I aimed to improve living my truth, being clear and being intentional.  In my evolution, I've seen my growth and changes I continue to make as I travel in my journey.  However, I think the most difficult challenge I've found is that it takes twice the effort to stay in metabolism is just not the same.  But as I give this more thought, I've carried this problem since my 30s ;-)

Nevertheless, we're looking forward to partying and welcoming our sister into this distinguished club.  Turning 40 is no small feat...then again, age is relative.

What do you think?  Are you approaching this milestone?  Are you already 40 (+) and Fabulous?  Share your comments.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I turn 40 in 3 yrs. Now you have me thinking... Visiting from SITS

    1. Thinking about the party? Turning 40? Or a combination of both? It's definitely a milestone birthday…lots of clarity :-)

      Thanks for visiting!

  2. When I turned 40 a girlfriend (who was already in her 40's) gave me a jeweled butterfly box and she told me that 40 was the metamorphosis decade. She's right~ lots of changes and most for the better! :)

    1. That's a great gift! And it's a perfect analogy…love it!
